To our Horse Soldier customers, vendors, and friends:

Many of you have been wondering when the Horse Soldier will be reopening. As of right now, the Horse Soldier plans to reopen Thursday, June 4th, which was Governor Wolf’s initial reopen date for Adams County. So, despite the new reopening date of May 22nd when Adams County moved to the yellow phase, the Horse Soldier remained closed to the public.

As of June 4th, instead of opening the shop to the public on an open door basis, we will be open by appointment only - please contact us at least 24 hours in advance. Everyone will be required to wear a mask, as well as use hand sanitizer provided by us, when entering the shop.

On Thursday, June 4, staff will be available for the pick up of pre-paid orders only.  Starting Friday, June 5th, we will be accepting appointments to enter the shop. We will take appointments on an hourly basis from 9AM - 3PM on the following days:  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each appointment will be a maximum of 1 hour in length. We will limit the number of customers in the store at any time to 10. The shop will remain closed on Sundays. You may make an appointment via e-mail or by phone. If you wish to make an appointment with a specific staff member or one of the owners, Wes or Sam Small, please let us know.

You will now be able to reach one of our office staff by phone Monday through Saturday, 9AM - 5PM, or you may leave a voicemail message when we are closed. Emailing us is still an option both when we are in the shop, or when we are closed or after hours; you may reach us directly at [email protected] or by using the 'Inquire' or 'E-mail" links on item pages on the web site.  We will also resume shipping on weekdays except Wednesdays, as in the past.

As some of you may know, many of our employees have chronic health conditions that require extra vigilance due to their susceptibility regarding coronavirus and it is our intention to keep the Horse Soldier family and its customers safe. With the unknown state of affairs and folks coming into town now that regulations are being loosened, we intend to stay under restricted contact until the threat of coronavirus passes.

Although it’s been interesting coping with a new way of doing things in the office and in the shop, we are still working on bringing new items your way. We’ve got most of the kinks worked out and by the time we’re operating smoothly, it’ll be time to reopen the shop on a full-time basis. Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay sane. We’ll see you soon.

Thank you,

The Owners & Staff of The Horse Soldier
