The body of this shell is severely pitted throughout but has kept its shape. The upper bourrelet has faded some but is still visible. The nose still retains the copper fuse plug which is in good condition.
The sabot is a high copper ring with a single hand-cut flame grove. The base has a somewhat subdued lathe dimple.
This shell was meant for use in 3.3 inch Confederate rifle.
