Item Code: 388-38

The linstock is a wooden staff with a pointed end for securing it in the ground, while the opposite slotted end was used to hold a burning slow-match…used to fire cannons. This linstock is made of turned wood and features a 2” iron spike on the bottom re-enforced with a brass cap. The slotted end retains the original wood pin to hold the slow-match. A length of rope has been with this piece for many years to display as slow-match. Acquired years ago from Bannermann’s. Overall length is 24.5”. Excellent condition with nice dark patina to wood.
