US/CS 3.67” 6 LB. CANISTER ROUND

$2,100.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: M25237

This non-excavated specimen is the standard-style canister that both the Federal and Confederate forces used in the 6-pounder (3.67-inch) smoothbore cannon.  This is a very nice solid and clean example of a 3.67-inch canister round. The sides of the tin body are free from dings and dents. The top is nicely crimped around an iron plate and the bottom has a wood sabot that has no chips or cracks.

Canister was designed to be fired at close range with a resulting devastating effect on the enemy.  .  [JET]
