This Navy friction primer box is in overall good condition.
The outer flap is smooth and mostly clean with only light surface crazing. The latch tab is sewn to the underside of the flap and is slightly worn with small amounts of surface finish loss. At center of outer flap is a strong marking that reads “NAVY YARD / PHILA / 1862” in three lines within an oval.
The body of the box has some light wear but is otherwise very good. The bottom has the brass pear shaped finial while the reverse has a single wide belt loop.
All of the seams are tight. [ad]
