The fuse pouch is made of brown russet leather and is in overall very nice condition. The outer flap has only light surface crazing and wear from age and use. The solid latch tab is attached to the underside by a single line of stitching.
The interior flap is excellent with both ears and a crisp stamping of “ALLEGHENY ARSENAL 1864.”
The body of the box is also very nice with only minor scattered crazing and tight seams throughout. The bottom of the box has a pear shaped brass finial and two strong loops n the reverse.
The belt is made of the same kind of leather as the pouch. It meas. approx. 1.50 inches wide by approx. 40.00 inches long. One end has a large iron roller buckle while the opposite end has seven adjustment holes. The belt has a tooled line along each edge and its surface shows light surface crazing and very minor surface finish loss.
Rare to find the pouch still on the original belt. [ad]
