This pack of 8-second artillery fuses originates from the Frankford Arsenal and was produced in 1863. The pack is constructed of a drilled wood block covered with a yellow-tan colored paper label. This paper covering is complete but for the corner where one fuse was removed. The other four fuses remain undisturbed inside. The remaining four cloth tear strips are present. The label shows light surface dirt and spotting but printed label and instructions are readable. [sl]
