Green buckram with original brown cloth cover and spine & gilt lettering neatly and professionally pasted on. Exhibits light rubbing and wear at the extremities. Else VG, w/tight spine and signatures. Author John Esten Cooke served on Jeb Stuart’s staff and wrote post-war on a number of Confederate subjects. One of the classic Confederate memoirs. Solid collector’s piece, and highly readable.
