Written by FREDERICK E. GOODRICH, detailing his childhood, youth, and education, military career, social and domestic life. Published in BOSTON: BY B.B. RUSSELL, 57 CORNHILL. 1886. Also included is a list of steel cut illustrations. Portrait of General Hancock, Hancock’s Early Home, Norristown, Penn. Foraging party, Antietam, Hancock at the Battle of Gettysburg, Crossing the Rapidan, Cavalry charge, General Hancock’s residence ,Governor’s Island, Hancock at the head of the Grant Funeral procession, Hancock’s Tomb, Norristown, Penn.

This hardbound addition displays a cover and spine impressed with gold gilt highlights and a facsimile copy of his signature. The overall condition is excellent, with a tight binding and spine with little wear to its surface. There is some light foxing present on the title page engraving of the General. The remaining 352 pages and engravings exhibit an off white appearance without damages. Measurements of this volume are: 7 ½” in length, 5 ½” in width, 1 ¼” in height.
