This is a complete set of 19 volumes, which includes the two-volume index. It is a military history of each Confederate state with eye-witness battle accounts, first-hand narratives, maps and military organizational charts.

Revised edition published by Broadfoot in 1987, with 517 illustrations, 56 battle maps, and 6100 biographical sketches. Originally was published in 1899 as 12 volumes. The volumes were written by the veterans themselves.

Books are covered in red cloth, with the title in gold gilt lettering on the spines with a Confederate flag, and with a silver-stamped Great Seal of the Confederacy on the front covers. Binding is tight, and books are in excellent condition. Each volume measures 9 ¼” x 6 ¼”.
