This book is a third person narrative of the adventures of a drummer boy who served with the 4th New York Heavy Artillery, and following the Civil War joined the regular frontier army, serving with the U.S. 27th Infantry at Ft. Kearney, and Fort C.F. Smith, Montana Territory, in the west.
Narratives of service with the “Heavy Artillery” regiments are scarce. Solid collectible. [jp]
