The 11th Ohio Infantry served in West Virginia and participated in eastern engagements through the Battle of Antietam, after which they transferred to the Army of the Cumberland. In June 1864, during the Atlanta Campaign, its remnant of veteran volunteers were reorganized as a battalion with the 92nd Ohio. With this unit it completed Sherman’s March to the Sea and through the Carolinas. During service it lost 54 men killed and wounded and 98 by disease for a total of 152.  [jp]
