This volume was printed by the Government Printing Office in 1917. The full title is “DESCRIPTION AND RULES FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF THE UNITED STATES RIFLE CALIBER .30, MODEL 1917.”
Covers are a light green heavy stock with a blue cloth spine. Very nice condition with light surface dirt and light wear.
Interior runs 62 pages with illustration. Pages have discolored some with age.
Cover has period ink inscription that reads “CAPT. G. R. KINGHAM, INF., R.C.” This is Captain George R. Kingham from Minnesota and who served as an instructor for the 351st Infantry of the 88th Division. Also inside the book is stamped the name “CLIFFORD C. GREGG / 1st LIEUT. INFANTRY.” Gregg was from Ohio and served with the 158th Depot Brigade at Camp Grant and never went to France.
This April will mark the 100th Anniversary of the US entry into World War One. [AD]
