P.V.” 1096 pp., ills. Roster. In blue glazed cloth, 9/75 x 7.25”, w/red cover & spine trefoil [1st Div. 2nd Corps], w/gilt cover & spine lettering. Exhibits slight wear at the extremities. Else VG & handsome. Organized in the autumn of 1862, from the Battle of Chancellorsville on [May 1863] the 148th PA participated in all the major engagements of the Army of the Potomac through Lee’ surrender at Appomattox. During service in lost 210 killed and mortally wounded and 187 by disease for a total of 397. Highly collectible, fine piece for Pennsylvania regimental aficionados. Nicely priced. [jp]
