Front eps, owner stamp: “R.A. Weaver”. 472 pp., ills. In green blind-stamped glazed cloth, 9.25 x 6.5”, w/gilt spine lettering. [Rebound endpapers, w/ author’s name-“C.T. Clark”—stamped in gilt at the foot of original spine.] Exhibits slight wear outer wear, w/upper spine gilt faded. Else VG plus.
Commanded by Colonel Emerson Opdycke, the 125th Ohio Vol. Infy. became one of the renowned Union regiments of the war, know chiefly for its desperate fight against the 29th Tennessee Infantry at the Battle of Franklin during the 1864 Nashville campaign. During service the regiment lost 111 men killed and wounded and 114 by disease for a total of 225. Extremely scarce in this condition. Superb O.V.I. collectible. [jp]
