By Captain E.J. Sherlock. Published by  Gerard-Woody Printing Co., Kansas City, MO., 1896. 432 pp., ills. Tan glazed cloth, 7.75 x 5.5”, w/gilt spine lettering. Exhibits light to moderate cover soiling; gilt lettering lightly faded; slight interior foxing. Else VG, w/solid spine. Else VG.

The 100th Indiana Infantry was organized at mustered in at Fort Wayne, IN, September 1862. It participated in Grant’s central Mississippi Campaign and in 1863 Siege of Vicksburg, and the Ringgold-Chattanooga Campaign that followed, including the Battle of Missionary Ridge in November. In May 1864 on, the unit participated in Sherman’s Atlanta Campaign, the March to the Sea and through the Carolinas, concluding with the Battle of Bentonville and General Johnston’s surrender. Following the Washington, DC, Grand Review, May 24, 1865, the unit was mustered out, July 8, 1864. During service the 100th Indiana lost 58 men killed and wounded and 176 by disease for a total of 234.
