Front eps award sticker to “John Sidey” of the Edinburgh Institution for Languages & Mathematics, dated 1845. Exhibits light wear and the extremities, & light soiling of eps. Else VG, & handsome. Narrative covers fifteen years of Sergeant Donaldson’s life, and six years of his army life from 1808 to 1814. One of the highly regarded enlisted memoirs of British army life during the later Napoleonic wars, and especially in the Spanish Peninsula under Wellington. Fine addition to any Napoleonic library. Superb collectible.
