Book is inscribed inside of the front cover and on the second page with, “PRESENTED TO FRED TAYLOR POST 19, G.A.R. BY POST COMMANDER G.J. MILLER MARCH 19-1891”. Also inside of front cover is a bookplate label with same inscription. Following this is a lithograph of General Meade and title page showing this was published in Philadelphia in 1889. Fourth page states, “TWO HUNDRED COPIES PRIVATELY PRINTED” and is signed, “G.J.A. MILLER D.D.S., NO. 80”. Introduction was written by Robert B. Beath, Past Commander in Chief.

History of the formation of the post is told with illustrations of post commanders, lists of members and activities and events of the post.

Book has a brown cloth cover with decorative embossing and the title embossed in gold on the front. Measures 9” x 9” x 1 ¾”. Text contains 264 pages. Binding is tight with no pages torn or missing. Front and back covers are splitting at the top and bottom. Front brown leaf is loose. Edges of cover show wear and corners are bent. Wt 5 lbs.  [sl]
