Hardcover volume bound in black cloth with the title stamped in worn gold on the front cover and spine. Covers are wrapped in Mylar and show light wear and surface dirt as does spine. The binding is strong. Book meas. approx. 6.75 x 9.50 inches.

The full title is “HISTORY OF THE FIFTY-EIGHTH REGIMENT OF INDIANA VOLUNTEER INFANTRY. IT’S ORGANIZATION, CAMPAIGNS AND BATTLES FROM THE MANUSCRIPT PREPARED BY THE LATE CHAPLAIN JOHN J. HIGHT DURING HIS SERVICE WITH THE REGIMENT IN THE FIELD” by Gilbert R. Stormont formerly a Corporal in Co. B and published in Princeton, Indiana in 1895. Volume runs 577 pages with several photographs as well as maps and illustrations.

During its service the regiment saw action at Stones River, Chickamauga and Missionary Ridge. The regiment lost 258 officers and men killed and died of wounds and disease.  [ad]
