These German cigarette books were collected by the German public before World War Two and in the early days of the war. Each album was profusely illustrated with photographs collected by the owner from cigarette packs and then pasted into the album.

This particular album is titled “DEUTSCHLAND ERWACHT” or “GERMANY AWAKE” Album contains 152 pages of text and there are approx. 225 glued in photographs with numerous views of Hitler, Goebbels, Goring and many other Party leaders as well as numerous rallies and parades and pictures from the history of the Party. There are no photographs missing. All are present.

Inside the back cover is a fold out photograph of the 1933 Nuremburg rally that meas. approx. 50.00 inches long by 12.50 inches wide and is in excellent condition.

Album meas. approx. 9.50 x 12.50 inches and is in excellent condition throughout. Hardcovers are wrapped with a dustjacket that shows German soldiers marching with NSDAP banners that read “DEUTSCHLAND ERWACHE.” Jacket is worn at corners with some small missing pieces on the spine and a carefully repaired tear, however, the dustjacket is covered in Mylar to protect it. Under the dustjacket is an orange cloth hardcover with a gold embossed profile of a Nazi Party member above the words “DEUTSCHLAND ERWACHT.”    Wt. 3 lbs.[ad]
