The volume is titled “DEUTSCHES ROTES KRAUZ SUCHDIENST VERMISSTENBILDLISTE” or “GERMAN RED CROSS SEARCH SERVICE MISSING LIST.”
Printed in Munich in 1957 the volume meas. approx. 8.50 x 11.25 inches. The volume runs 727 pages and contains hundreds, if not thousands, of photos of German servicemen and women missing in action. Under each photo is the person’s name, occupation, birth date, hometown, rank and place missing with date. A few photos are crossed out which means their remains were probably found but those are very, very few.
This is not a volume that we have seen offered anywhere before. Though it is not one of a kind it is certainly rare and interesting. [ad]
