The full title of this hardcover volume reads “THE ANNALS OF THE WAR WRITTEN BY LEADING PARTICIPANTS NORTH AND SOUTH. ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED IN THE PHILADELPHIA WEEKLY TIMES” Title was published by the Times Publishing Company in 1879.
Volume meas. approx. 6.50 x 9.25 inches and runs 800 pages with no index. There are black & white illustrations at the beginning of each chapter.
Brown cloth covers show light edge wear. Title and a crossed swords with oak wreath decoration are present on the spine in gold. Front cover has a gold wreath with a spread-winged eagle perched on a medallion bearing the head of Columbia. The title is in black ink.
Over all condition is good. Binding is tight. Pages have browned from age.
