These German cigarette books were collected by the German public before World War Two and in the early days of the war. Each album was profusely illustrated with photographs collected by the owner from cigarette packs and then pasted into the album.

This particular album is titled “DIE DEUTSCHE WIEHRMACHT” or “THE GERMAN DEFENCE FORCE” Album contains 66 pages of text and there are approx. 270 glued in colorized photographs with numerous views of tanks, ships, artillery, mounted soldiers, infantry, shipboard life, submarines and aircraft and so on. Every aspect of the German military forces are pictured along with text in German.

Album meas. approx. 10.25 x 13.00 inches and is in excellent condition throughout. Paper covers are in good condition. Front is embossed with the title in gold and an illustration of an 88mm anti-aircraft gun and crew. Spine has light wear but is otherwise good.  [ad]
