A mid-19th century, quart capacity, black glass, three piece molded body ale or porter bottle. This type of bottle dates from circa 1830-1860 and have been commonly recovered from both tavern and military campsites dating from the Mexican War through to the Civil War era. This specimen stands 10 ¼” tall and measures 3 ½” diameter across the base. There is some very minor roughness to the upper mouth lip, but no other damages noted.
