Colonial period black glass magnum size bottle measuring approx. 11 ½” tall, with a 5 ¼” diameter base.  Broad cylindrical body with pushed-up base with pontil scar. Well known American applied cylindrical seal affixed, “Charles Ludlow”. Ludlow was a New York attorney, listed in the City of New York Directory at 184 Water Street in 1786.  Bottle is in excellent condition, no cracks or chips evident. Base is not quite level and neck is somewhat off center.

Note: Bright areas are result of camera flash and overhead light reflections.
