This vintage, pale green colored soda bottle with blob top measures 7 ½” tall. Raised lettering on bottle reads, “JOHN HECT, BROOKLYN N.Y. 1862”.
John C. Hecht was a soda water manufacturer during the Civil War. His business was located at 10 Yates Place on Brooklyn's eastside. J.B. Winter bought out Hecht in 1862 but maintained the many Hecht named bottles still in inventory.
The condition of this bottle is quite nice. It's mostly clear with only light minor scratching and no chips. It would make a very attractive and historical conversation piece. [sm]
