Manufactured by the Dyottville Glass Works, at least 20 varieties of the Washington – Taylor flask exist. This aquamarine color flask bears the raised bust of General Washington with “THE FATHER OF HIS COUNTRY”, and the reverse side with a bust of Gen. Taylor with “A LITTLE MORE GRAPE CAPTAIN BRAGG” – a quote from the Battle of Buena Vista, Feb. 1847, between Gen. Taylor and Capt. Bragg ordering Bragg to use more grape. Applied lip with open pontil. Quart size. Minor discolor to glass, otherwise perfect. [ws]
