DRY SACK BOTTLE, CIRCA 1840-1870

$75.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 998-1528

Olive colored bottle has inverted bottom and applied top. Sack is an antiquated wine term referring to white fortified wine imported from mainland Spain or the Canary Islands. Most sack was probably sweet, and matured in wooden barrels for a limited time.

Irregularities and bubbles in the glass are present due to the hand blown process, which only adds to the character of the piece.

Measures 7 ½” tall by 2 ¼” at the base. Shows light surface scratches all over. No chips or cracks.  [sl]
