Glass mallet bottle is a deep olive color. Shows applied top with ring and inverted bottom with pontil scar.

Transitional mallet describes a form in the evolution of the wine bottle. The Europeans started making wine bottles with taller sides and shoulders which are typically called mallets as compared to the earlier squat forms called onions.

Measures 7 ½” tall by 5” in circumference at the base. No cracks, lip and ring show chipping.  [sl]
