Two piece, low convex coat size button. Button depicts eagle with banner with motto, "Essayons", fortifications, and rising sun, intended for officers of the engineer corps. BM: "D. EVANS & CO. ATTLEBORO (dot) MASS" dm on a riband with flower at bottom. Ca 1850's - 1860's. Nice gilt patina. Minor dings to reverse. Albert's EG6, Tice's EG215F1.
