Produced by Scovill circa 1860, this three piece, high convex, coat size button was intended for pre-war Wisconsin Militia staff officers.  Button depicts state seal of Wisconsin: a badger over a shield with symbolism of agriculture, mining and commerce. BM:  "EXTRA / (star) QUALITY (star)" dm small letters between rings of dots; no depression around the shank.  Very good condition, nice gilt patina.  A few dark spots on reverse. Shank present & straight.  Albert's WC1, Tice's WC200D2.
