Beautiful officer’s pattern coat button with “double dolphin” motif.  Two raised dolphins separated by a raised dot which surround a large Arabic number “2”. Face is made of silvered sheet pewter, which is then wrapped over a wood back. Four holes are drilled in the wood and catgut cord is run through the holes.

There is tarnish on the face which gives the button a gray appearance. Wood back and catgut are complete.  Entire button is in excellent condition, front and back.  [jet]
