This is a non-dug manuscript “I” infantry button as used by the Confederacy.  Coat size. Face is dark with beautiful details. The back displays the maker’s backmark, “Halfmann & Taylor . Montgomery .” in an outer ring. “Alabamd” appears within an inner ring. Shank is present and straight. This button displays beautifully.  [jet]
