Nine coat and two cuff buttons make up this group of buttons that were saved by a Union soldier’s daughter. Cloth tag has hand inscription in period ink that reads, “BUTTONS PAPA HAD ON HIS BLUE INSIDE COAT HE WORE IN CIVIL WAR”.

Buttons all have shanks and retain some of their original gilt.  [sl]
