These buttons were produced in the early 19th Century. This one is listed in Tice as MS036A4 and in Albert as MS19.

The flat face of the button has a lined field with a standing Indian holding an arrow in one hand and a bow in the other with the “MASSACHUSETTS” in an arc above the Indian’s head.

Reverse has a good shank and a maker’s mark which reads “RICH QUALITY” in gothic script and “LONDON.” The shank is surrounded by a group of eight stars.

The button has a very light patina and is in good condition.
