LINCOLN-HAMLIN 1860 FERROTYPE CAMPAIGN TOKEN

$975.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: P13204

Circular brass token with a small hole punched on the center edge for wearing on a coat lapel. Stamped into the edge of the obverse is “UNION OF THE STATES 1860” while at center is a tintype (also known as a ferrotype) of a beardless Lincoln with “ABRAHAM LINCOLN” printed in an arc over his head. The reverse has “THE CONSTITUTION 1860” around the edge with a tintype of Hannibal Hamlin at center with “HANNIBAL HAMLIN” printed in an arc over him as well.

This is a rare piece in excellent condition. Both photos are clear with good contrast and the brass surface has a nice light patina on it.
