This is a complete document which retains all sixty redemption certificates. Bond features an image of the Great Seal of the Confederacy, which is George Washington on horseback, and is based on the monument in Richmond outside of the Capitol building. It is numbered 7308. Note declares, “CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA, LOAN AUTHORIZED BY SECTION G OF AN ACT OF CONGRESS, FebY. 17TH. 1864. On the First day of July, 1894 The Confederate States of America will pay the Bearer of this Bond at the Seat of Government or at such place of deposit as may be appointed by the Secretary of the Treasury the Sum of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS, with thereon from this day at the rate of SIX PER CENT per annum payable semi annually on the first days of January and July in each year. The Confederate States have by an Act approved February 17th 1864, enacted that the principal and interest whereof shall be free from taxation and for the payment of the Interest therein, the entire net receipts of any Export Duty, hereafter laid on the value of all cotton, Tobacco, and Naval Stores which shall be exported from the Confederate States and the net proceeds of the Impact Duties now laid, or so much thereof as may be necessary to pay annually the interest are hereby specially pledged provided that the duties now laid upon Imports, and hereby pledged shall hereafter be paid in specie or in Sterling Exchange, or in the Coupons of said bonds.” It was signed on March 1, 1864 by the Register of the Treasury.

Reverse is stamped in blue at the top with, “CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA BONDHOLDERS COMMITTEE, REGISTERED AND FEE PAID 1- NOV. 81 GABRIEL LINDO, SECT PRO TEM”.

Bond is in very good condition and all ink inscriptions are readable. Some light wrinkling and fold marks are present. There is some light chipping all over and one very small tear at the top.
