Bill is in fair condition and is printed on good quality paper. Bill is not cut canceled. The top edge shows some moderate wear with minor paper loss on top right corner. There is also a small hole above the “es” in the word “States.” Engravings are done in black with red over printing. At left border is portrait of Confederate Secretary of State R. M. T. Hunter and at lower right is portrait of Dr. Alfred L Elwyn as a child. This bill was the first Confederate bill to use a portrait of Secretary Hunter. Bill is from Series K and is number 38791. Blank back. Printed by Keatinge & Ball, Richmond, VA. Has block letter CSA watermark. [ad]
