Mid-war bond issued from the Confederate Capital at Richmond, Virginia. The bond was authorized March 23, 1863, dated April 1, 1863 and is numbered 5446. The center image is of the Customs House. Engraving was done by Geo. Dunn & Co. of Richmond. Bond was signed by Robert Tyler.
At the bottom are 7 coupons remaining. The first was redeemable April 1, 1865 and the last on April 1, 1868. Measures 14” x 14”. Bond is in very good condition with faint creases. A few small chips are present on the edges. Yellowing has occurred from age. All ink inscriptions are readable. [sl]
