Early war bond issued from the Confederate Capital at Richmond, Virginia. The bond is dated August 19, 1861 and is number 781. The center design is of a woman seated on a rock. The printer of this bond is Hoyer & Ludwig of Richmond.. At the bottom are 5 coupons. The first was redeemable July 1, 1865 and the last on July 1, 1867. Only 901 of these bonds were issued. Bond is in good condition and all ink inscriptions are readable.
