Composed by L. C. Hubbard, Co. B, 35th Regiment, N.Y.V. "ON THE DEATH OF EDWIN JOSLYN. / Co. E, 2nd Regiment, U.S. Sharpshooters. / DIED IN GENERAL HOSPITAL, AT FREDERICKSBURG, JULY 11th, 1862.

Measures 7 5/8" x 9 1/2". On heavy paper, it is in overall fair to good condition. Age darkened with small areas of paper loss; there is a 1 3/4" long tear extending inward from upper right edge.

Tells the story of the death of Edwin Joslyn from illness, with only his fellow soldiers to care for him, and that he was buried in Virginia.

Edwin Joslyn was a resident of Waterbury, VT when he enlisted as a Private on 10/24/61. On 11/9/61 he mustered into Co. E, 2nd US Sharpshooters. Died of disease 7/11/62.
