The paper meas. approx. 8.00 x 5.00 inches and has written on it in bold period ink “COUNTERSIGN THURSDAY MAY 1, 1862 ‘FLORENCE.’ ” The surface of the paper is very clean but two of the corners are dog-eared. There are also one vertical and one horizontal fold line.
