This framed page comes from the “CONTINENTAL ALMANAC FOR 1862” and is so marked across the top. The page comes in a modern sky-blue mount and wood frame. The piece meas. approx. 9.25 x 11.25.

The top half of the page shows eight uniform sleeves arranged in two rows of four. Each sleeve displays a different rank. The first row from left to right has Sergeant-Major of Infantry, Quartermaster-Sergeant of Cavalry, Ordnance Sergeant and First Sergeant of Infantry. The second row has Sergeant of Infantry, Corporal of Infantry, a sleeve with two Veterans Service Stripes and a sleeve with one Veterans Service Stripe. Across the bottom of the diagram is “CHEVRONS OF NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND FOR SERVICE.” The bottom half of the page is an advertisement for a wood engraver in Philadelphia.

Both the diagram and the advertisement are done in full color. Each sleeve of the diagram is blue with the chevrons in branch colors. The advertisement has blue and red lettering with red and pink flowers. The item is in good condition and shows only light surface dirt.
