This sheet music is for “BRAVE BOYS ARE THEY.” The cover page has the title in bold print with a dedication that reads “DEDICATED TO THE SISTERS OF OUR VOLUNTEERS.” The words and music are by the very famous wartime composer Henry Clay Work. Sheet music is dated 1861.
The edges are a little worn with light surface dirt. Piece would look good framed and matted.
Chorus is:
BRAVE BOYS ARE THEY
GONE AT THEIR COUNTY’S CALL
AND YET, AND YET
WE CANNOT FORGET
THAT MANY BRAVE BOYS MUST FALL
