Pre-printed form, approx. 10” x 8”. Filled in on June 30, 1864, at “City Point, Va”. Lists 10 horses. Signed by Capt. Edward Jenner Strang. Minor mounting stain along left edge, otherwise excellent.

Strang enlisted at the age of 42 on 5/9/61 at New York, NY as a 1st Lt. On 6/17/61 he was commissioned into Field & Staff, 15th New York Engineers as 1st Lt. & QM. Discharged for promotion on 4/13/63; on that date commissioned into US Volunteers Quartermaster’s Dept. as Captain and Asst. QM. Promoted to Lt. Colonel by Brevet 3/13/65, Major by Brevet 3/2/67, and Lt. Col. by Brevet 3/2/67. Mustered out on 3/29/1867, with subsequent service in the US Army until retiring on 7/9/1884. Died on 6/20/1891.
