This is a map of the Campaign of the Army of West Mississippi, led by Maj. Gen. E.R.S. Canby, Com'd., in Southern Alabama, March and April, 1865. The map was created by S.E. McGregory by order of Major McAlester. It traces the routes of Cavalry, the 16th Army Corps, the 13th Army Corps and Steele’s Forces in Alabama.
The map is labeled Plate CX, from the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies from 1861 to 1865, originally published in 1891.
The map measures 29.25” long by 18.5” wide. In good condition with some significant chipping on the top border.
