Dated September 20, 1853. 8 pages (12 ½” x 8”) in beautiful manuscript. Alabama inventory of the property of C.R. Marshall, deceased. Extensive, detailed inventory of everything he owned on the plantation, including his debts.
Thirty two slaves are listed with their name, age, sex, and value to the estate; most are shown on page one. Some of those listed include Charity, a girl age 30 valued at $700; July, Jim, Betty, Scott, Caroline, Moses, etc. The slaves are arranged by families with the mother and father, followed by their children.
