Scarce early New York militia document dated August 16, 1809. This is a two-sided manuscript document for Brigadier General Steddison, City and County of New York, First Brigade of Infantry. It is dated August 16, 1809 and is for a court martial to be held at Hallams Tavern, No. 71 Nassau St., for Ensign Robert Dillon, now under arrest. It also lists the composition of the court.
An attractive document, overall very fine condition. Remains of a wax seal at right. Minor scattered foxing/soiling, fold lines. Measures 7 1/2" x 9 1/2", in a 13" x 17" two-sided archival frame for complete viewing.
