Four page pamphlet with wonderful color chromolithograph of Grant as a Lieutenant General on the cover. Above Grant’s head is “MEMORIAL SOUVENIR.” On either side of the General’s head are “RIVERSIDE, NEW YORK” and “APRIL 27th 1897.” Across the bottom is a quote in facsimile of Grant’s handwriting “I PROPOSE TO FIGHT IT OUT ON THIS LINE IF IT TAKES ALL SUMMER. U.S. GRANT.” This is followed by “COMPLIMENTS R. H. MACY & Co.”

Upon opening the pamphlet there is a two page spread consisting of a short biography of Grant and the “Programme OF CEREMONIES AND PARADE” with a list of guests and members of the Grant family in attendance. Illustrations include Grant at age 21, drums and muskets, bronze statue of the General in Brooklyn, New York and Grant’s birthplace in Point Pleasant, Ohio. Under the short biography of the General is an advertisement for Foster’s Hook Fasteners for gloves. Back cover has a full color rendition of the tomb with an ad for R.H. Macy & Co.

Item meas. approx. 8.25 x 10.25 inches. Some minor edge wear and crease at upper right corner. Otherwise item is in good condition for its age.
