This document is headed “LIST OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL OFFICERS OF THE COUNTY OF SHENANDOAH.” The document then lists 42 names of citizens of the county who were elected in 1865 or 1866 to serve in the following offices, Commonwealth Attorney, Sheriff, Clerk of the Circuit Court, Clerk of the County Court, Surveyor, Constable, Commissioner of Revenue and Justice of the Peace. The document lists the date when these men were elected and when their term ends. There is a “Remarks” section where it is noted the Clerk of the County Court was appointed by General Schofield.

The document is fairly clean with minor edge wear and minor discolorations scattered throughout. Ink is readable. There are two vertical and one horizontal fold lines. The bottom of the two vertical lines have small separations.

Document meas. approx. 10.50 x 17.00 inches and is mounted on acid-free cream stock and housed in a modern wood frame that meas. 16.50 x 23.00 inches. Reverse has a cut hole with glass to reveal the document title written on the reverse. Item comes ready to display with a description sheet detailing the materials used in the framing.  [ad]
